Located at the Tocantins state, Jalapão is a place of great geographic diversity, still wild and one of the main destinations of adventure tourism in Brazil.
With an area of 34 thousand kilometers, Jalapão embraces cities like Ponte Alta do Tocantins, Mateiros, São Félix do Jalapão, Novo Acordo and Aparecida do Rio Novo.
The Jalapão’s landscape is amazing with great views of mountain ranges, “chapadões” (a typical formation of mountains), rivers with transparent and pure waters, waterfalls, fountains, desert beaches and sand dunes that could get to 40 meters high.
The vegetation of the region is the Cerrado, prety muck like the African savannas. Fauna and flora are still preserved and during the strolls it's possible to find typical species, as the anteater, capybara and colorful parrots.
For those who like adventure, the Rio Novo (New River) offers the prettier rafting of Brazil. It's a 4-day expedition that offers a complete structure and total security.
